“The Bruce Mason Theatre is a purpose made facility intended to provide a highly flexible theatre for a wide range of community and professional theatre groups.”  “To achieve these intentions the design incorporates a number of strategies to reconfigure the auditorium space to alter both seating layout and acoustic response.  These include the disassembly of the front stalls seating into removable blocks, which can be stored under the stage, an adjustable width proscenium arch.  Reverberation time of the auditorium can be adjusted by increasing the room volume.  This is achieved by altering the angle of the hinged ceiling panels allowing the upper roof space to be included in the auditorium volume.”
